KYLE COURSEY

“YOUR THOUGHTS, BELIEFS, AND EMOTIONS AFFECT YOUR PHYSICAL & ENERGETIC BEING & VICE VERSA. I TRY TO HELP ILLUMINATE & ELUCIDATE THAT CONNECTION.” - KYLE COURSEY

Raised barefoot in board shorts on the island of Kauai, Kyle was "Hanai'd" or "taken in" by a handful of local families who brought him up with ALOHA, RESPECT, and KULEANA (responsibility).

These are core values he carries with him wherever he goes.
His caring nature, enthusiastic energy, and curiosity are what led him to his work in HAPA LOMI.

Educated and trained on Kauai, Kyle has been studying human systems for 20 years. He has studied LOMI LOMI and the cross section between the physical and the perceived experience for the last decade while learning, cultivating, and curating his own approach.

By taking his experience and understandings in as many systems as possible, he has seamlessly blended them together to create HAPA LOMI.

"Hapa" - half/mixed/partial.

When Kyle started his journey in bodywork, he recognized sessions held the potential for more than what current practices implemented.

Formally trained in therapy, he graduated at the top of his class specializing in somatic modalities. Kyle combines knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology from this massage curriculum with years of his own autodidactic education.

He maintains a national certification and license for bodywork therapy.

When asked why he does what he does, his response is:

"Because I know -
I know very deeply what it feels like to be in pain.
I know what it feels like to feel there is no hope and no way out.
I know how hard we all try.
I know how hard we work and how many responbilities we attend to.
I know how little time we have for ourselves.
I know how rarely we take time to care for ourselves.
I know what it feels like to receive a good massage (session).

When every spot on your body that has been aching to be touched.

When muscles you didn't even know needed it are found and cared for.

Leaving your body and soul feeling nurtured and appreciated.

I believe everyone deserves to feel like this as much as possible.

The more people feel this way, the more energy they will have to go out and enjoy all of the things they need and want to do.

And the more energy they will have to break the negative cycles and patterns in their own life, the more they will be able to do the same in the lives of the people they love.

The more people feel this way, the greater capacity they will have to spread kindness.

It is the perpetuation of ALOHA - the joyful sharing of life energy in the present."
